How to use Nakisa African Black Soap
African Black Soap is an old age soap that has been used for centuries as a natural cleanser for the skin. This soap usually contains a few highly effective ingredients, Nakisa African Black Soap contains Cocoa Pod Husk, Coconut Oil, Unrefined Shea Butter and Neem. These ingredients treat dry skin, reduce wrinkles, blemishes, acne, scars and melanin production, stimulate collagen, hydrate and bring the skin back to its natural state amongst many other benefits.
African Black Soap in general is a naturally strong cleanser and this can either be super beneficial and moisturizing to the skin for some whilst causing dryness for others. In this guide, we will discuss how to use Nakisa African Black Soap in a way that will benefit your skin.
First Time Users of Nakisa Black Soap
When switching from your previous daily/nightly cleansing routine to black soap you might notice that your skin feels dry. You might also notice that your skin is tight and releases toxins in the form of pimples. This is due to the soap drawing out impurities, as the soap naturally detoxes and exfoliates the skin.
African Black Soap can cause skin irritations if used after very abrasive exfoliation or when left on the skin too long.
However, after using Nakisa African Black Soap for a while, the skin adjusts to the natural properties, and these issues go away. Nonetheless, before introducing a new product to your skin, it is adviseable do a patch test to asses how your skin will react. This is discussed in detail down below.
Sensitive Skin or Dry Skin
For sensitive or dry skin, you will notice skin irritations more than other skin types. Raw black soap, might be too strong. Therefore the best way to use Nakisa African Black Soap is by diluting it to make it milder. This is done by placing the soap into a container and adding clean water. After cleansing with the soap, it is advisable to use a moisturising toner, followed by Nakisa Rosehip Oil to combat dryness.
How often to cleanse
If the soap is drying your skin due to everyday use, try using it 2-3 days a week, or as a detox soap once a week. Then slowly increase to using it every 1-2 days so that your skin can build the properties to appreciate the strength of the soap.
Private or Sensitive Areas
Again, due to the natural strength of the soap, using African Black Soap on sensitive areas (i.e crotch, underarms, etc) could lead to dryness or in those areas, especially within the first couple of weeks. Use a liquid formula or use sparingly if dryness occurs. If there are any extreme reactions, avoid use in those areas.
Oily or Acne Prone Skin
Nakisa African Black Soap is great for decreasing excess oil and detoxing the skin to reduce the bacteria that causes pimples. However oily skin types may also experience dryness, should you experience this, use the same instructions above by using the soap once a week and increase slowly as your skin adjusts to the properties in the soap.
How To Do A Patch Test for skin reactions
Always check the ingredients of the products you are using for the first time. If you are unsure of your reaction to new products it is adviseable to conduct a patch test. Lather up some soap in your hands and rub it into the inside of your arm (where your elbow is) and let it dry. Watch the area to see if any rashes or irritation occurs. If so, discontinue use, if no irritation occurs, go ahead and give Nakisa African Black Soap a try!
